Mengqiao Li is a Ph.D. candidate in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at George Washington University. Her Ph.D. research program involved developing novel catalytic systems, exploring radical-induced transformation mechanisms of nanomaterials in aquatic systems, and evaluating the toxicity of transformed nanomaterials.

Mengqiao is expected to receive her Ph.D. degree from George Washington University advised by Danmeng Shuai at Environmental Engineering in November 2022. She completed an M.Sc. degree in Chemistry (2018) from Hefei National Laboratory for Physical Sciences at the Microscale (HFNL) and a B.S. in Material Physics (2015) from the School of the Gifted Young (SCGY) at the University of Science and Technology of China (USTC).

Mengqiao is a recipient of the C. Ellen Gonter Environmental Chemistry Award (2021), National Scholarship for Graduate Students (China, top 5%, 2017), and Excellent New Student award (2011).
